Feeling Blue?

Blue is one of the most favorite colors. Not mine, but many people's. My husband. One of my girls, and my Mom.

Blue is the color most preferred by men {no surprise there}...Blue calls to mind feelings of calmness or serenity. It is often described as peaceful, tranquil, secure, and orderly. {I think that must be it! The orderly part....it's why the above mentioned family members love Blue, me, messy me, I love Red!}

Which doesn't mean I don't like Blue...not at all. I love the Blue Flowers on the Cafe au Lait Bowls above. It's a great color Blue. One that makes me happy early in the morning, while drinking that first coffee.

I love the bright Blue of this Vanity Tray, especially with the contrast of the bright Pink Roses.

I love the dark Blue surrounding rim on this antique Tin Portrait Plate, nestled in the old, old gilded Barbola Frame.

This softest Robin Egg's Blue is to die for, the antique Victorian Jardinierre with Rose...if I was a true Blue girl, it wouldn't be on the website right now, because this is gorgeous.

Great color French Blue on this paper mache Tray, which is so French Country. {although it was made in Japan, long ago, it's still avidly sought after by Tole Tray collectors!}

What's not to love about this Blue doorstop? sigh. nothing, am I right?

Or antique band boxes covered in beautiful Blue Wallpaper. Love these, no matter what color paper is on them.
This old Seed Catalog has those killer Blue Delphiniums on the cover, still so bright after about 100 years. Love. them.

Ticking...looks fabulous in Blue. Blue. and Blue again. It's actually my favorite color in the old ticking pillows, even beats out Red.

another one...

A totally different Blue on the vintage French Baptism Candy Favor Containers. There are so many different colors of Blue. Blue is often used to decorate offices because research has shown that people are more productive in blue rooms.

Antique Victorian Postcard of Dove, carrying away Blue flowers to build her nest. {or do the men doves build the nests?}

Tiny little hand painted portrait of a Marie ~type girl, on the back of a handmirror. Marie loved Blue.

Blue Glass Soda Syphons, gorgeous color. I sold all of these right away, this spring I will be looking for more, since they look so great!

Sweet illustration with mostly Blue, from one of my antique children's books. Blue swallows up above, little blue birds below, and lots of bachelor buttons and other blue flowers.

Little Blue Toile Hearts with Lavender, on my antique French Blue Bistro Chair.

I love this little bag. Made with love, most likely in the early 1900's, of beautiful Lace, and a bright Blue lining. Very simple, but what an effective way to show off the lace!

One of those killer handcrafts I mentioned a while back, this padded Silk Book Cover, hand painted by a very talented turn~of~the~century young woman with a calm blue sea, and tiny sailboat.

Antique Lady Portrait, with beautiful blue coloration. This is a really old, old print, I love her face and the way she folds her arms together.

Vanity Pin Tray, French, and with an exquisite illustration of a French young lady wearing a to die for fufu Blue dress.

This antique French Jewelry Casket has the surprise of the original bright blue silk lining. Great color! Wouldn't our diamonds shine on this?

When I first started my business, our business cards and the website were blue. light blue. A couple of months later I decided it just wasn't me. So it was changed to Red, much more moi.

Gingham checks in blue...it doesn't get any cuter than this!

Covered English Antique Casserole ~ transferware in blue. Sticking to my plan of only keeping the Red {see a couple of posts ago} I happily sell all the blue.

Tired of all this blue yet? The light blue chenille spread is sweet, I love all the flowers. Light blue has such a springy, sweet and vintage look to it.

Blue antique Transferware Plate depicting Edingburgh Castle

Bright Blue Cut Glass Casket.

Icy Blue Glam

Blue one of a kind Necklace with petite Crowns and Blue Cameo

What a lovely post! Blue was my Mother's favorite color. She loved it. As long as I got her something blue for Mother's day or her birthday I was in good standing with her, LOL! It's not my fave, though! It is beautiful, though. That doorstop is gorgeous! I'd love to find something like that! :)
