I picked one! A tablesetting for Thanksgiving dinner, that is. I bore easily, so I like to have a totally different "look" each year. I am sorry that you can't see the cloth (that's why professional Photographers get paid the big money~I can't get it to show up at all!) it is such a lustrous shiny and see through Pumpkin color. (It's a see-through Curtain Panel from Target, which I actually got at the Goodwill for 5.99) layered over a plain cream colored cloth.
Then I used my Brown and Cream Quail Plates, with a salad plate of Edme, Wedgwood. An antique Napkin with lace, tied with a large piece of vintage Brown Grossgrain Ribbon. Instead of silver, this year I am using my wonderful French Black Handled Brasserie Flatware , set face down, like the French do. I love this flatware, it is beautifully finished with a French Scrolling design, and the Black handles are very comfortable to hold. Some great French Glasses finish off the setting. The centerpieces will be fresh Roses placed in floral foam in our always popular sea-salt finished Urns, I love these, the plinth makes it a bit higher, perfect for a centerpiece! (before this they had Ivy in them on our outside deck table)
I made these little covers for some very inexpensive glass votives. (These were used years ago at a family wedding) I wrote some words in a pretty script on the computer, printed this on parchment paper, cut and glued, and viola! Instant holiday votive holders! This is so easy...the words I used are: Family, Grace, Love, Thanks, Friends, Hope and Joy. I made a lot so there will be plenty of little candles twinkling over the tables. (each place setting will just get one, I lined these up for you to see)
Okay, tables, CHECK! Now on to the rest, I am going to spread it out over the time I have left, so I don't have way too much to do at the end.

Just gorgeous! I especially love the detail of the face-down flatware. And that cream plate with the ribbed edge...I must have one! Is that the Wedgewood you were talking about?

I worked for Wedgewood many years ago and have an assortment of salad plates to mix and match. That is what makes it fun!
Beautiful! We don't host Thanksgiving dinner but we do host a Thanksgiving breakfast prior to dinner- this is some great inspiration.

Uh, what time is dinner this year? ;0
What a pretty table Lidy. I long for the days before our family got so large that we have resulted to Chinette paper plates.
Lidy,
Your table is gorgeous & festive! I miss those big family dinners we had growing up getting to use all of the special china & embellishments of the holiday. I remember the colorful set of turkey salt & pepper shakers we would use at Thanksgiving. Hope your Thanksgiving is bliss!
Vicki
Wonderful inspiration each time I visit! Love love the urn in the centre!!
Oh so pretty Lidy! Your family and guests won't want to leave the table! I love the flatware...the black handles are so elegant.
Lidy,
Your table setting looks so very elegant! I am still working on mine. I love the candle idea, may I steal it? I have a friend whose daughter is getting married and these would make lovely momentos for each guest, I'm thinking they could each be placed in a little organza bag, with the writing being a quote or scripture on love. Thanks for a great idea that is so simple!
Miss Sandy
Lidy...Lovely as usual!
